Worcestershire's Thrilling Chase Secures Victory Against Kent
Worcestershire executed a thrilling run chase to defeat Kent, creating a four-way tie at the top of Group A in the One-Day Cup. Joining them with eight points are Wednesday's victors Hampshire and Somerset, along with Derbyshire, who suffered a heavy defeat.
On a day interrupted by showers affecting three out of four group matches, Joe Weatherley scored 93 runs to lead Hampshire to a 143-run victory over Derbyshire. Meanwhile, Somerset secured a comfortable seven-wicket win against Northants.
However, Worcestershire faced a tougher battle in their Group A game. Stand-in captain Jake Libby was run out for 75 with 27 runs still required, leaving the outcome uncertain. It was up to National Counties discoveries Hishaam Khan and Tom Hinley to remain composed and guide Worcestershire to victory with seven balls remaining.
