USA Men’s Cricket Team Secures a Win Over UAE

The USA Men’s National Team capped off their ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) League 2 campaign in Namibia with a commanding 136-run victory over the UAE, thanks to a remarkable unbeaten 155 from Milind Kumar off 110 balls and a stellar contribution of 107 runs from 99 deliveries by young talent Saiteja Mukkamalla.

With this win, the USA completed a flawless record in Namibia, winning all four of their ODIs. Their attention now shifts to the upcoming T20I series against both Namibia and the UAE, as they look to continue their winning momentum.

After being sent in to bat first, the USA faced early trouble with the dismissals of key players Andries Gous and captain Monank Patel. However, opener Smit Patel provided a steady start, scoring 48 from 58 balls, setting the stage for a record-breaking 191-run partnership between Milind Kumar and Saiteja Mukkamalla. Their partnership propelled the USA to a formidable total of 339 for 4.

In reply, the UAE's top order faltered under pressure from USA’s bowler Saurabh Netravalkar, who delivered an impressive spell, taking 3 wickets for 32 runs in seven overs. While UAE’s middle order tried to mount a comeback, they couldn’t withstand the relentless USA bowling attack. Nosthush Kenjige also claimed 3 wickets for 32 runs, and Jasdeep Singh contributed with 2-51, as the USA bowled out the UAE for 203 in 36.2 overs.

Milind Kumar, named Player of the Match, expressed his delight at the team’s performance: “We are thrilled to finish the series with another win. It was a great team effort, and everyone contributed. I'm especially happy with my first ODI century and hope to keep this form going into our next matches.”

With six victories in their last eight ODIs, the USA now holds second place on the ICC CWC League 2 points table. The team will next host CWC League 2 matches in Dallas, Texas, beginning on October 25th, where they will face Nepal and Scotland.
