Trinbago Knight Riders Secure Jason Roy and Tim David for CPL 2024
The Trinbago Knight Riders have announced the acquisition of England's Jason Roy and Australia's Tim David for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 season. This update was revealed alongside the franchise's retention list on Monday, June 10.
Tim David, who previously played for the St Lucia Kings in the CPL, brings his experience to the Knight Riders. Jason Roy, who had initially joined the Knight Riders' IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), for IPL 2024, withdrew before the season began and will now represent TKR in the CPL.
Additionally, the Knight Riders have bolstered their squad by signing Afghanistan's spinner Waqar Salamkheil and Ireland's left-arm pacer Josh Little. USA international Ali Khan will also rejoin the franchise, continuing his association with TKR for another season.
The team has maintained most of its core domestic players, which helped them reach the 2023 CPL final. Key players like Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, and Nicholas Pooran are among those retained. With 15 players already confirmed, TKR will complete their roster during the draft in July.
