The Deshpande initiative

In contrast to CSK, Travis Head achieved a boundary and a six off the first ball of the next over. Abhishek Sharma responded with a six of his own. However, Deshpande responded with a wide slower ball, which Head was unable to send any further than the sweeper on the off side. The first wicket to fall was that of Anmolpreet Singh, who was dismissed by a leading edge to a ball that shaped away.

In his next over, Deshpande had Abhishek caught by the sweeper on the offside again. Abhishek and Head have not achieved remarkable statistics without taking fielders on, but they will be somewhat disappointed that both found one of the only two men out.
