Strong Platform for Johnson, Dhaliwal and Singh

Aaron Johnson and Navneet Dhaliwal didn't want to do anything rash, playing each ball on its merits and deflecting erratic deliveries. Johnson has the power to make the most of good deliveries, knowing there will be no ground large enough to contain him on a connection.

Having struggled in Hong Kong and the series opener in Nepal, it was certainly positive to see Dhaliwal return to form with 46. Falling against the wicket, Dhaliwal flashed at a short ball outside off and edged to the keeper to give 19-year-old Aakash Chand his first ODI wicket.

After adding 94 runs for the first wicket in the 18th over, Pargat Singh continued the purple patch with a run-a-ball 38 before hitting a slog sweep straight down the throat of deep midwicket.
