Rain Washes Out First Day of Pakistan vs Bangladesh

Relentless rain prevented any play on the first day of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, with not even the toss taking place. Despite an inspection by the umpires at noon, the continuous downpour forced them to call off the day's play. The weather was so discouraging that both teams remained at their hotel.

The forecast suggests more rain later in the day, and overcast conditions are expected to persist into tomorrow. Rain also disrupted the teams' practice sessions on Thursday.

Bangladesh leads the two-match series 1-0, having secured their first-ever Test victory over Pakistan in the previous match. Pakistan, which fielded an all-pace attack in that game, has included leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed in their 12-man squad this time. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed is fit and likely to replace fast bowler Nahid Rana. However, the final playing XIs will not be revealed until at least Saturday morning.

This Test was originally scheduled to be held in Karachi, but the PCB moved it to Rawalpindi due to ongoing construction at the National Stadium.
