Naomi Stalenberg Joins Renegades with Two-Year Deal
Naomi Stalenberg is set to leave the Hobart Hurricanes, having signed a two-year contract with the Melbourne Renegades.
Continuing their recruitment spree, the Renegades have secured the services of experienced batter Naomi Stalenberg. After spending four seasons with the Hobart Hurricanes, the 30-year-old will relocate to Melbourne to bolster the Renegades' squad.
Stalenberg, a versatile batter with 122 WBBL matches under her belt, will enhance the Renegades' batting lineup. Her addition completes the team's roster of local players, leaving only two positions to be filled at the WBBL Overseas Draft on September 1.
During the Hurricanes' WBBL|09 season, Stalenberg accumulated 162 runs in eight innings, highlighted by a striking 54 off 29 balls against the Scorchers.
Stalenberg expressed her excitement about joining former Hurricanes teammates Tayla Vlaeminck and Hayley Matthews at the Renegades. She mentioned that the squad features a blend of young talent and seasoned players across various disciplines, and she believes they have the potential to challenge for finals and even win the championship.
With nine seasons of WBBL experience, Stalenberg has established herself as a reliable performer. She began her WBBL career with the Thunder before moving to the Hurricanes in the 2020-21 season, amassing a total of 1443 runs throughout her Big Bash tenure.
