Corey Anderson's fifty helped USA to a 4-0 victory over Canada
Corey Anderson scored his first T20I half-century for USA, leading them to a four-wicket victory over Canada at Prairie View and securing a 4-0 series win.
After USA were reduced to 9 for 3 in their chase of 169, Anderson and opener Nitish Kumar combined for a 104-run partnership. Anderson played the anchor role, scoring 55 runs off 48 balls in his second match for USA, hitting two sixes and six fours. Nitish was more aggressive, scoring 64 runs off 38 balls with four sixes and four fours.
Nitish continued batting even after Anderson was dismissed by off-spinning all-rounder Harsh Thaker. Although Nitish and Shadley van Schalkwyk were dismissed in the space of four balls, Harmeet Singh and Nisarg Patel sealed the victory in the final over without much difficulty.
Canada's batsmen, apart from opener Srimantha Wijeyeratne, all made 15 or more. But none of them were able to get to a big score. Three players reached their thirties, and Thaker, who also took two wickets, finished as Canada's top scorer with a 24-ball 38 that included three sixes.
Canada consistently formed nifty partnerships, preventing the USA from taking wickets in clusters. An unbeaten 39-run partnership for the sixth wicket allowed Canada to enter the innings break with momentum on their side.
The momentum from the previous innings carried over to the USA team, as Rishiv Joshi trapped Andries Gous lbw on the second ball. Canada's captain, Saad Bin Zafar, then dismissed Aaron Jones - the highest run-scorer of the series - with the first ball of the second over. He followed this up by having Gajanand Singh caught behind on the next ball, putting Canada in a strong position and himself on a hat-trick.
As has been the case throughout the series, the USA proved to be too good for Canada.
