Canada in the Cricket World Cup League 2
The Canadian team had a challenging journey to secure a place in the League 2 table. Initially, they won their 2019-2022 Challenge League group, which allowed them to advance to the Qualifier Play-off held in March and April of last year. Subsequently, they finished ahead of both Jersey and Papua New Guinea, enabling them to move up to League 2 and regain their ODI status, which they had lost in 2019.
Led by Saad Bin Zafar, the team has prepared for their campaign with a one-day tri-series against Hong Kong and Malaysia, as well as a bilateral tour of Nepal. Saad's left-arm orthodox and Kaleem Sana's left-arm seam will be crucial to the team's success, along with Aaron Johnson's batting skills.
The team began their League 2 campaign in the UAE at the end of February, and also faced Scotland in the second tri-series of the competition.
