A squeeze on middle-overs

This is where CSK demonstrated a shift in their fortunes in comparison to the previous match. In the previous match, LSG did not allow the CSK spinners to bowl, particularly given the dew. Here, Ravindra Jadeja demonstrated his effectiveness. He conceded just one boundary in his four overs, bowling consistently. He and Mustafizur Rahman managed to find just enough grip from the surface to achieve their objective. Nitish Reddy, frustrated, top-edged a short ball from Jadeja. Matheesha Pathirana, with a laser-guided middle-stump yorker, broke the stump camera and dismissed Aiden Markram.

CSK's strategy was indeed the correct one. The team was unable to repeat their previous success in a chase, but they closed out the game efficiently to secure a 78-run win.
