New Partnership for Canadian Team

To foster the expansion and development of cricket in Canada, TD Bank Group (TD) and Cricket Canada have unveiled a new sponsorship deal.

Through this agreement, TD will serve as the official bank of Cricket Canada's national teams, supporting Cricket Canada’s mission to cultivate a vibrant cricket community in the country. This sponsorship aims to enhance grassroots development programs and increase access to national teams and players for young fans and enthusiasts.

The Rise of Cricket in Canada

According to CulturalIQ’s 2022 report, the surge in cricket's popularity in Canada is largely driven by immigration from cricket-playing countries. The report highlights that the South Asian fanbase significantly contributes to this growth, with 28% of survey respondents identifying as superfans of the sport.

TD's Role in Promoting Cricket in Canada

As cricket's popularity continues to rise, TD’s sponsorship will support this growth through several community engagement initiatives. Cricket Canada aims to empower communities and promote inclusivity through the sport, focusing on expanding the existing cricket-loving community and attracting new fans.

Cricket Canada’s initiatives will concentrate on two main objectives:

1. Enhancing grassroots development programs across Canada

2. Increasing the sport’s accessibility, popularity, and engagement among players, young fans, and long-time enthusiasts

Amjad Bajwa, President of Cricket Canada, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating that with TD's support, they can enhance the cricketing experience for national teams, players, and fans while driving the sport's growth at all levels.

Integration of TD with Cricket Canada

Under this sponsorship, TD’s logo will appear on the official kits and training gear for Canada’s national teams, including new custom kits for the Canadian men’s team's first-ever appearance in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. In 2025, TD will also sponsor Cricket Canada’s Women’s Team.

In the ODI CWC Super League, a qualifying pathway for the 50-over World Cup, the Canadian team remains unbeaten and aims to continue this momentum.
