This is not a typical spinners' pitch

There were a few minor cracks on the pitch in Lucknow, which would allow the ball to turn off them. The soil was also black, which has historically been more spin-friendly. When LSG batted, RR's spinners R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal combined for figures of 8-0-80-1. Ashwin's solitary wicket was that of Deepak Hooda, caught at wide long-on, and it was only his second wicket in eight games this season.

LSG's spinners also encountered difficulties during the chase, despite the absence of dew. Krunal Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, and Mishra bowled a total of seven overs, conceding 60 runs. While Krunal bowled at a faster pace and with a flatter trajectory, conceding only 24 runs from his four overs, Mishra and Bishnoi proved to be expensive.
