Seattle Orcas: Aiming for Redemption After Runner-Up Finish

Captain: Wayne Parnell

Coach: Pravin Amre

Previous Season: Runners Up

Seattle Orcas had an impressive run last season, reaching the finals while losing only one league match. However, they were defeated in the final by a remarkable century from Nicholas Pooran, which overshadowed Quinton de Kock's striking 87. Throughout the tournament, the Orcas displayed exceptional cricket, highlighted by individual brilliance. Heinrich Klaasen's explosive 110 off 44 balls clinched a nail-biting win against MI New York, with his 26-run over against Rashid Khan marking a pivotal moment in his career.

Imad Wasim's spin was a key asset, as he effectively handled the challenging power play overs, ending with an economy of 6.33 and 10 wickets in 7 games. USA World Cup star Harmeet Singh was a crucial partner to Imad, and their synergy wore down opponents. De Kock's three half-centuries in the latter part of the tournament secured his spot at the top of the batting charts despite a slow start.

International Additions:

The Orcas revamped their international lineup, letting go of Dasun Shanaka, Dwayne Pretorius, and Shimron Hetmyer. Key new signings include Pakistan's death bowling specialist Zaman Khan and South Africa's emerging pacer, to support captain Wayne Parnell in the death overs. South African Ryan Rickelton joins De Kock and Klaasen in an already South Africa-heavy team. The addition of New Zealand off-spinning all-rounder Michael Bracewell enhances the bowling options alongside Imad Wasim.

Domestic Talent:

The Orcas boast a wealth of all-round talent with Shubham Ranjane, Harmeet Singh, and Hamad Azam. Ranjane's electric fielding varied slower balls, and valuable lower-order contributions were vital in the inaugural season. Nauman Anwar and Shehan Jayasuriya add international experience to the batting lineup. Anwar, in particular, complemented De Kock well at the top with his consistent performances. American-born Aussie state cricketer Cameron Gannon strengthens the pace attack. The Orcas re-signed USA vice-captain Aaron Jones in a supplemental draft, following his outstanding 94 in the World Cup opener.

Probable XI: Quinton De Kock, Nauman Anwar, Shehan Jayasuriya, Heinrich Klaasen, Ryan Rickleton, Imad Wasim, Harmeet Singh, Shubham Ranjane, Zaman Khan, Wayne Parnell, Cameron Gannon.
