The first 11 overs of Gujarat Titans' spin bowling proved decisive in the match. Before Rashid Khan came on to bowl the fifth over, Punjab Kings were performing well, at 42 for no loss.
Then Rashid bowled a four-run over, and the Titans' slow-bowling strategy began to take effect in Mullanpur. He and compatriot Noor Ahmad secured the early part of the middle overs, taking three wickets between them. Before left-arm spinner Sai Kishore arrives and significantly impacts the middle over, taking 4 for 33, the Kings have managed to reach a total of 142.
They have performed well in defence, with Harshal Patel taking three wickets for 15 and Liam Livingstone taking two wickets with his off-breaks. Ultimately, the opposition did not have a strong enough batting line-up to defend the total, nor did they possess the slow bowling quality that the Titans team did. The visiting team comfortably won the match with five balls to spare.
