The Nepali national cricket team has landed in Sri Lanka, where they will engage in practice sessions and compete in a three-match One Day International (ODI) series commencing on Monday.
This series against the Sri Lanka Development Team serves as a critical step in Nepal’s preparation for the upcoming ICC World Cup League-2. Following their training stint in India, the Nepali team has now shifted focus to Sri Lanka to sharpen their skills ahead of the competition.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has disclosed that Nepal will participate in a tri-nation series under the World Cup League-2 in Canada, scheduled from September 16 to September 26. The series will feature teams from Canada, Nepal, and Oman, and the Sri Lankan tour is a key part of Nepal's strategy to ensure they are well-prepared.
CAN has revealed a 19-member squad selected for the Sri Lankan tour. The team includes prominent players such as Rohit Paudel, Ashif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Dev Khanal, and Bhim Karki. Other key players like Aarif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Arjun Saud, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Gulshan Jha, and Rijan Dhakal are also part of the squad.
Additionally, the squad features Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Akash Chand, Sagar Dhakal, Sandeep Jora, Kushal Bhurtel, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Sandeep Lamichhane, who are expected to play crucial roles in the upcoming series.
