The Nepal cricket team will host Canada for a three-match ODI series starting with the first match on Thursday, 8 February at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. On 10 and 12 February, the second and third matches of the series will also be played at the same venue.
This will be the first time that Canada and Nepal have met in an ODI series. In February 2022, the two teams met in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier A.
In that match, Nepal crushed Canada by a margin of eight wickets. Bowling first, Sandeep Lamichhane took 3/12 to bowl out Canada for 80 in 15 overs. Nepal then went on to chase home in 14.1 overs.
Canada recently played a tri-series against Malaysia and Hong Kong. They lost to Malaysia in the final after comfortably winning the league stage matches. Malaysia won the summit clash, chasing down a target of 244 with three wickets in hand.
