Nepal Ends Canada Tri-Series

Nepal’s final match in the Canada Tri-series of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 ended in disappointment as it was abandoned without a single ball being bowled due to rain.

The no result brought Nepal their first point of the League 2 after enduring a five-match losing streak that began in February.

Currently, Nepal has lost six of their eight matches and stands seventh in the eight-team table with just three points. Their only victory in the second edition of League 2 came when they defeated the Netherlands by nine wickets in the opening tri-series at the TU Cricket Ground. However, Rohit Paudel’s side suffered two losses to Namibia and dropped their second match against the Netherlands during the home series.

In Canada, Nepal's struggles continued. They lost their first match to the hosts by 103 runs, followed by a narrow one-wicket defeat to Oman. In their third game, they were beaten by Canada again, this time by five wickets.

Canada currently tops the standings with 14 points, securing seven wins and four losses. Oman, with six points, is in sixth place. Their game against Scotland also ended without a result due to rain.

Nepal's next challenge will be a T20I tri-series against the same teams—Canada and Oman—before heading to the United States for the US Tri-Series, where Scotland will also participate.

The United States ranks second with 12 points, having won six games and lost two, while Scotland sits in fourth with nine points, securing four wins and two losses.
