Nepal Falls to Canada in Third Consecutive Loss

Nepal's tough run in the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2 continued as they faced a third straight defeat, this time losing to Canada by five wickets at King City, Canada. Chasing a target of 182, Canada comfortably reached the total in 42 overs, losing five wickets. Navneet Dhaliwal led the charge with a top score of 87 off 113 balls, including eight fours and four sixes, while Pargat Singh supported with 64 runs from 83 deliveries, hitting seven fours and two sixes.

Canada initially had a setback when opener Aaron Johnson was dismissed for a duck, but a crucial 122-run partnership between Dhaliwal and Singh set the foundation for their victory. On the bowling side, Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane claimed two wickets, while Karan KC, Gulshan Jha, and Lalit Rajbanshi each took one.

Earlier in the day, Nepal elected to bat first after winning the toss but struggled to build momentum, managing 181 runs before being bowled out in 46.1 overs. Lamichhane shined with the bat as well, scoring a personal best of 49 runs in ODIs, while Gulshan Jha added 34, Karan KC 24, and Sompal Kami contributed 21. Canada's bowling was spearheaded by Kaleem Sana, who took three wickets, with Harsh Thaker and Dilon Heyliger chipping in two wickets each. Praveen Kumar and Saadwin Zafar each took one wicket.

Following their earlier 103-run defeat to Canada in the triangular series, Nepal now prepares to face Oman in their final match.
