Fast bowler Jeremiah Louis has been sidelined from the final Test between West Indies and England due to a hamstring injury, Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced. In response, the team has called up Akeem Jordan as a like-for-like replacement.
Louis, who did not play in the first two Tests, sustained the injury during the second match at Trent Bridge. He will stay with the team for further treatment. Jordan, who was in the UK at the time, has already joined the squad and will participate in the training session at Edgbaston.
Although Jordan has not yet made his Test debut, he has played in 19 first-class matches, claiming 67 wickets since 2022 at an average of 24.10, including two five-wicket hauls with the best performance of 5 for 44.
In addition to Jordan, the West Indies squad includes seamers Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales, and all-rounder Jason Holder. The team is currently trailing 2-0 in the series, having lost the Richards-Botham Trophy following defeats at Lord's by an innings and 114 runs, and at Trent Bridge by 241 runs. The final Test is set to begin on Friday, July 26.
