Ben Stokes Suffers Hamstring Injury, Adding to England’s Concerns Ahead of Sri Lanka Test Series

England’s Test captain, Ben Stokes, has been sidelined with a hamstring injury during a match in the Hundred, further deepening the national team’s injury woes. Stokes is scheduled to undergo scans with less than 10 days remaining before the first Test against Sri Lanka.

While playing for the Northern Superchargers, Stokes had to retire hurt during a chase against Manchester Originals. He was assisted off the field, clutching his left hamstring, and was later seen using crutches. His captain, Harry Brook, hinted that the injury could be serious.

Brook commented after the match that the injury "doesn't look great, unfortunately," and confirmed that Stokes would be getting a scan the following day to assess the damage.

Stokes had already been dealing with a knee injury on his left leg, which adds to the concern surrounding this latest setback. His participation in The Hundred was expected to continue for more games if his team advanced, but Sunday’s events appear to have prematurely ended his involvement.

England is already facing challenges with the absence of Zak Crawley for the upcoming three-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which will take place over 21 days.
