Canada will host Argentina, Bermuda, and the USA in the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier from 11 to 18 August. Only the team that finishes at the top of the table will qualify for the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup 2024 in Sri Lanka.
The final pathway event for Sri Lanka 2024 starts on Friday, as four teams prepare for a week of intense competition in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier.
Held in Toronto, Canada, the hosts will be joined by Argentina, Bermuda, and the USA in their quest to secure the 16th and final qualifying spot for the world's premier showpiece event - the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup 2024, which will bring together the world's best young cricketers.
Two historic Toronto venues - the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club, one of the oldest cricket clubs in the country dating back to 1827, and the Maple Leaf Cricket Club - will host 12 matches from August 11 to 18.
The hosts have a strong record at the event, having won the last five U19 qualifiers, and will be looking to get off to a good start when they take on Argentina in the opening game, while the USA take on Bermuda in the other match.
The round-robin format will determine the table-topping side that secures passage through to the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. The tournament returns to Sri Lanka for the first time since 2006, and only one spot is up for grabs.
The winners will join other regional winners including Nepal (Asia), New Zealand (EAP), Namibia (Africa), and the winners of the European qualifier, which concludes on Saturday.
These teams will compete alongside 11 automatic qualifiers who were the highest-placed full member nations at the last edition in 2022, including defending champions India.
