Salahuddin Named Senior Assistant Coach for Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Mohammad Salahuddin as the senior assistant coach for the national men’s cricket team, with a contract lasting until March 15, 2025. The announcement was made on Tuesday, November 5.

BCB President Faruque Ahmed expressed that Salahuddin’s role in the national team setup will open doors for more local coaches to join the ranks. Reflecting on his commitment to develop local talent within the coaching staff, Ahmed noted Salahuddin’s vast experience and expertise as invaluable assets, making him a perfect choice for the position. He also emphasised the importance of integrating capable Bangladeshi coaches into the system.

With over 20 years of coaching experience, Salahuddin has previously held roles as Assistant Coach and Fielding Coach for Bangladesh’s national team from 2006 to 2010. He also served as a specialist coach at the BCB National Cricket Academy in 2010-11 and later took on the role of Head Coach for Singapore in 2014, leading them in the ICC World Cricket League Division 4.

As a highly respected local coach with an ACC-Cricket Australia Level 3 accreditation, Salahuddin has achieved notable success, guiding teams to multiple victories in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

Salahuddin is scheduled to join the Bangladesh team on November 10 as they head to the West Indies for a series of two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
