India's left-arm spinner, Radha Yadav, found herself in a dire situation during the recent floods in Vadodara, Gujarat, and has expressed her gratitude to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for their timely assistance.
"We were in a very difficult situation. I am extremely grateful to the NDRF for rescuing us," Yadav shared on Instagram on Wednesday night.
The video accompanying her post shows the area around her home submerged in water, with rescue personnel arriving at a raft. In the footage, people can be seen wading through water that reaches chest height.
Gujarat has been severely impacted by flooding in recent days. Reports on Thursday indicated that 28 people had lost their lives, and nearly 18,000 others were relocated to safer areas due to rain and flood-related incidents.
Yadav is currently part of India's 15-member squad for the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup, which is set to begin on October 3. India is grouped with defending champions Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand, with their first match scheduled against New Zealand on October 4.
Yadav was last seen in action during the Women's Asia Cup, where she played a crucial role by taking three wickets in the semi-final against Bangladesh.
In her international career, Yadav has played 80 T20Is for India, claiming 90 wickets. Her appearances in ODIs have been fewer, with just one wicket from four matches.
