Hardik Pandya Tops ICC T20I Allrounder Rankings

Hardik Pandya has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Indian to secure the No. 1 position in the ICC T20I allrounder rankings. He ascended two places to share the top spot with Sri Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga, thanks to his remarkable performances during India's triumphant T20 World Cup campaign, where they remained unbeaten.

Pandya amassed 144 runs with an impressive average of 48 and a striking rate of 151, while also claiming 11 wickets at an average of 17.36 during the matches held in the West Indies and USA. His standout performance came in the final against South Africa, where his three-wicket haul for 20 runs was crucial in India’s seven-run victory. Additionally, Pandya's notable batting display was highlighted by his unbeaten 50 off 27 balls against Bangladesh.

Jasprit Bumrah, awarded Player of the Series in the T20 World Cup, also made significant strides in the bowler rankings. Bumrah climbed 12 places to secure the No. 12 spot after taking 15 wickets at an average of 8.26, with an economy rate of just 4.17. His decisive spell in the final overs against South Africa, when the opposition needed 30 runs from the last five overs, played a pivotal role in securing India’s win.

Other Indian players also saw improvements in their rankings. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who took ten wickets at an average of 13.90 during the World Cup, moved up three spots to joint-eighth among bowlers. Seamer Arshdeep Singh, who was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 wickets, rose four places to achieve a career-best No. 13 ranking.

Additionally, South African pacer Anrich Nortje climbed seven positions to reach a career-high No. 2 in the bowlers' rankings after being the top wicket-taker for his team in the World Cup, with 15 wickets at an average of 13.40 and an economy of 5.74.

In the allrounder rankings, Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Liam Livingstone each advanced one spot to occupy the No. 3, 4, 5, and 8 positions, respectively.
