The challenge presented by the steep target was largely due to the exceptional performance of Jake Fraser-McGurk, who scored 84 runs in just 27 balls. McGurk's strike rate of 242 in his first ten balls is the highest among batters to have faced at least 50 deliveries in IPL 2024. In total, he achieved 11 fours and six sixes. This was his third fifty of the season, bringing his overall tally to 247 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 237.50.
