Texas Super Kings and South African fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has been sidelined for the rest of MLC 2024 due to a low-grade left side strain. The 23-year-old sustained the injury during TSK's opening match against the Los Angeles Knight Riders, where he took 1 for 28 in his four overs.
TSK has not yet named a replacement for Coetzee and chose to bring in veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for the subsequent game against Washington Freedom, which was washed out.
Coetzee is expected to take about a month to recover fully before his next engagement—a Test series tour in the West Indies, for which he has been included in a 16-member squad. The first Test is scheduled in Trinidad from August 7, followed by the second Test in Guyana starting August 15.
