David Warner and Ishant Sharma will require a further week to regain full fitness, according to Delhi Capitals' assistant coach Pravin Amre. The team secured a ten-run win over Mumbai Indians in Delhi.
Warner sustained an injury to his finger while attempting a lap shot against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 12. Warner was unable to participate in DC's next match, against Gujarat Titans, but did play against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 20, where he was out for 1.
Since that time, he has been unable to participate in two further games, including the one against MI. Ishant is currently recuperating from back spasms.
The next match for DC is against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata on April 29. They will then return home to play against Rajasthan Royals on May 7.
Against MI, Prithvi Shaw was also unable to play due to illness.
Amre said:
"Prithvi was not feeling well when we reached the ground. So we decided that if he was not 100% fit, we would go with [Abishek] Porel."
