South African all-rounder Chloe Tryon and Australian all-rounder Erin Burns have signed with the Guyana Amazon Warriors ahead of the 2024 Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL).
Returning from last season's squad are Stafanie Taylor, who led the Amazon Warriors to the tournament final, Shabnim Ismail, Karishma Ramharack, Shemaine Campbelle, Natasha McClean, and Shakera Selman.
To complete their 15-member squad, the Amazon Warriors need seven more players. Six of these will be selected from the WCPL draft in July, and the final overseas player will be confirmed before the season begins.
Tryon has played 98 T20Is for South Africa, scoring 1136 runs and taking 35 wickets. She is currently touring India with the national team. Burns, with extensive experience from 162 T20s, including 117 matches in the Women's Big Bash League for Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes, has accumulated 2429 runs and 80 wickets. She was also part of the Barbados Royals team that won the championship last year.
The 2024 WCPL will take place in Trinidad from August 21 to 29, with all seven matches hosted at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Now in its third season, the tournament will feature the Trinbago Knight Riders, Amazon Warriors, and Royals.
