Now trailing 2-0 in the series, Canada faces a do-or-die situation for the remainder of the tournament, with a win for the Americans sealing the five-match series in their favour.
Captain Bin Zafar also revealed after the match that a hand injury he suffered while batting in the first match of the series will be monitored. While some felt it may have contributed to his decision not to bowl in the first powerplay of the series, Bin Zafar revealed it was more of a tactical decision.
Bin Zafar said:
“It’s matchups as well, we know a few of their players up a top struggle against off-spin so that was my game plan.”
Canada will need to get it right from here if they are to win the series.
