ATN Acquires Broadcast Rights for NCL

Asian Television Network International Limited (ATN), Canada’s leading South Asian broadcaster and a pioneer in cricket broadcasting, has announced that it has secured the rights to air the first season of the National Cricket League (NCL), set to take place in Dallas, Texas.

Cricket fans in the U.S. and Canada are gearing up for an exciting season as the NCL launches in Dallas, bringing together elite talent from both domestic and international cricket. This event marks a pivotal moment for the sport’s growth in the United States.

The inaugural NCL season began on October 4, 2024, with matches held at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) Cricket Stadium. Teams from major cities like New York, Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles will compete in this premier tournament, showcasing a dynamic mix of local and global cricketing talent.

Dr. Shan Chandrasekar, President and CEO of ATN, expressed his enthusiasm for broadcasting the NCL across Canada. He mentioned that cricket is not only one of the world’s most popular sports, but is also rapidly gaining popularity in North America. He noted that the NCL will offer an exciting platform for fans in both countries to enjoy prime-time, top-tier cricket closer to home.

The league is set to attract a wide fan base, featuring star players, celebrity appearances, and family-friendly activities on match days. With a focus on cricket’s future in America, the NCL is committed to fostering youth development and community involvement through initiatives such as coaching clinics, school outreach, and grassroots tournaments.
