USA international Aaron Jones, known for his powerful batting at the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup, has been picked up by the St Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 draft. Jones qualifies as a local player thanks to his Barbados passport.
Most of the squad selections by all six teams were completed through signings and retention before the draft day, with only a few spots filled during the draft. The St Lucia Kings also selected Khari Campbell, Johann Jeremiah, Mikkel Govia, and Akeem Auguste.
Meanwhile, the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots chose Kyle Mayers as their first draft pick, followed by Mikyle Louis, Ryan John, and Veerasammy Permaul.
Defending champions Guyana Amazon Warriors welcomed back Matthew Nandu and added the all-rounders Raymon Reifer and Ronaldo Alimohamed to finalise their squad.
The newest team, Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, picked Roshon Primus, Justin Greaves, Jahmar Hamilton, Teddy Bishop, and Kofi James. The Trinbago Knight Riders added Nathan Edward and Shaquere Parris in their emerging player spots.
Barbados Royals completed their roster by selecting Kadeem Alleyne, Isai Thorne, and Nathan Sealy.
The 2024 CPL season is set to kick off on August 29, with the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons facing the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.
