Cricket in Canada witnessed remarkable progress in 2024, marked by unprecedented achievements, rising fan enthusiasm, and strengthened corporate alliances. The year saw significant international success, including historic participation by the Men’s National Team in the ICC T20 World Cup and groundbreaking partnerships bolstering the sport's growth.

Rahul Srinivasan, CEO of Boundaries North, a key partner in Cricket Canada’s development, emphasized the collective support from fans and sponsors, which propelled Canadian cricket to new heights. He expressed optimism about the sport's future in the country, highlighting a sense of unity and celebration.

2024 Highlights

The Men’s National Team debuted at the ICC T20 World Cup, achieving an opening-round victory that underscored Canada’s growing potential in global cricket. Domestically, the No Frills T20 Cup marked Canada’s first home international series since 2015, where the team excelled against Nepal and Oman. These successes captivated thousands of fans and elevated the sport’s profile nationwide.

Corporate sponsorships from prominent brands like Coca-Cola and TD Bank provided critical support, enabling investments in grassroots programs and promotional activities. Fan engagement also soared, with record-breaking attendance and unprecedented digital interaction.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Cricket Canada plans to build on 2024’s momentum with expanded international events and heightened community involvement. Upcoming highlights include the Women’s National Team competing in the ICC World Cup Americas Qualifier and the Men’s Team hosting pivotal League 2 matches.

Boundaries North remains committed to ensuring cricket’s sustained growth, fostering inclusivity, and inspiring the next generation of Canadian cricketers.
